The aim of the course was to instruct students of all ages to be educated in Kashmir Shaivism, its philosophy, ethics and meditation. Among all received applications, 12 students from over the world including Australia and Iran were selected for the course. Indian students came from all India including Kerala, Mumbai, Lucknow and Haridwar. The faculty for the workshop included prominent scholars such as Dr Navjivan Rastogi, Dr Mark Dyczkowski, Prof M L Kukiloo, Dr Nihar Purohit, Dr Rajneesh Mishra, Dr Shruti Rai, Dr. Meera Rastogi and Dr S S Toshkhani. Over the one week duration of the residential course, the students had a comprehensive course of study of the text of Abhinavagupta's Parmarthsara (Essene of the Highest Reality). Two Skype sessions were also organized by the Ishwar Ashram Trust during the week where the course participants had chance to interact with Universal Shaiva Fellowship faculty (Los Angeles) incuding Mr John Hughes, Mrs Denise Hughes and Mr George Barselaar.

The course concluded on 6th Dec 2014 with an Evening Symposium on Kashmir Shaivism. This symposium was meant for all who wanted to know the basics of the philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism. An interesting panel discussion on how to make Kashmir Shaivism attractive for children and the youth was very well received by the audience. The Ishwar Ashram Trust presented the "Shaivacharya Swami Lakshmanjoo Samman" to Sh S P Dhar, an ardent devotee of Swamiji.

The symposium concluded with a soul stirring sitar recital by Prof Mark Dyczkowski, marking the end of the week long programme.
